Volvo Pop-Up Shop Interactive Retail Window Game
Creative technology agency Knit (weareknit.co.uk) approached Technical Display when they were requested to design a fun, interactive and compelling retail window display for Volvo.
Our display technology expertise and knowledge was called upon to advise and Install a system that would encourage shoppers to ‘connect’ with a brand new Volvo V40, on show inside the pop-up shop.
Our Approach
Creative technology agency Knit wanted a display that would attract the passing general public in to the pop up shop to view the Volvo cars that were on display.
After discussing this in detail, we decided that a window mounted interactive projection screen consisting of a 50″ ‘Clearview’ holographic rear projection film and a interactive dual touch foil, connected to a very bright and high resolution projection system would form the basis for the shopper to interact with Knit’s initial design of playing a light pattern memory game.
The Result
The result was that the client was extremely pleased with their Boardroom and VC rooms audio visual set up, and also very satisfied with the ease of use of the 10″ touch screen control panel, for anyone using the room.
TDS created a bespoke system that suited our clients’ requirements exactly, which allowed them to have flexibility and full control over their displays. Whether they wish to hold a Teams or Zoom meeting, or just want to share a desktop to a display, the client now has a system that is not only aesthetically pleasing to look at, but they also have a system that is practical and fit for purpose.
The bright display enticed the passing shoppers to Interact with the game that Knit had designed. The shoppers were asked to repeat the moving pattern correctly on the touch window, and when successful, an LED trail lights up to connect them to the car inside the pop up shop.
This system successfully encouraged shoppers to ‘connect’ with a brand new Volvo V40, on show inside the pop-up shop, by playing a light pattern memory game. When the shopper repeats the pattern correctly on the touch window, an LED trail lights up to connect them to the car.
The system was very popular with shoppers, and Volvo decided to utilize it at various other shopping centers throughout the UK.
